2026, Grand National pulling returned to Macon — bringing the history, horsepower and packed-grandstand energy back to the Macon County Fairgrounds

In 2026, the Show Me Showdown returned to the NTPA Grand National circuit, reconnecting the event with its roots in Macon, Missouri. What began decades ago came full circle with three nights of championship pulling, packed grandstands, and some of the best competitors in the sport back at the Macon County Fairgrounds.
Before the Show Me Showdown returned to the NTPA Grand National circuit, the event closed out an incredible chapter by earning the 2025 Pro Pulling League Pull of the Year honor. It was recognition of the competition, the atmosphere, the crews, the fans, and the community that helped build the Showdown into what it is today.

The Show Me Showdown is more than a weekend of pulling, it’s part of Macon’s history.
From the early NTPA nights of the ’80s and ’90s to the modern era, the Showdown has grown through generations of pullers, fans, volunteers, families, and community support.
In 2025, the event earned Pro Pulling League Pull of the Year honors. In 2026, it came full circle with the return of NTPA Grand National competition to Macon.
Through every chapter, one thing has stayed the same: the Show Me Showdown is built on horsepower, tradition, and a community that shows up.
