The National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA) is the sport’s oldest and most respected truck and tractor pulling sanctioning body. Founded in 1969 by pullers from eight Midwestern states, the NTPA was created to unify rules, improve safety, and give the sport a consistent structure across events.
Today, the NTPA is managed by World Pulling International and headquartered in Ohio. It provides the rules, safety standards, and officiating that keep events fair for competitors and exciting for fans at the local, regional, and national levels.
When you see the NTPA shield on a banner or track, it means you’re watching top-tier, professionally run pulling.

The NTPA organizes competition into several levels, including:
Pullers earn points at each NTPA-sanctioned event. Those points roll into season championships by class, and fans can follow standings, schedules, and registered competitors on the NTPA website throughout the year.
